He led the race till the 200m mark before easing off, allowing others to pass him. Various records were broken in the race, which required a photo-finish and saw American Otis Davis being declared the winner by one-hundredth of a second over German Carl Kaufmann. Mr. Yadvinder Singh, Former National Athlete, Fitness Trainer & Athletic Coach. Having a zeal to run since childhood, Mr Yadvinder Singh did his education from Guru Harkrishan Public School, Delhi, where he first participated in a running competition of 100 meters sprinting and stood 3rd and this raised a fire inside him get better and he started practising even more at Nehru Stadium, Delhi under Mr. Rai, a NIS Athletic coach. After about 2 years of practice, Mr. Singh stood 1st in School Nationals 100 meters with the time of 11.60 seconds. Inspired by PT Usha, Mr Singh’s only mission was to get India colour after completing his education and he started working even harder ever since.
His journey could not have been as bright as it is without his Godfather Milkha Singh who not only helped him to deliver the best but also transformed him into a great athlete. Immersed himself completely in practice, Mr Singh faced some severe health issues due to over practising and faced some ups and downs in his personal life at the same time. However, nothing could break him down as he never stopped chasing his goal and started practising again as soon as he recovered. Soon he came the best athlete of Mohali, District Ropar & Punjab but his dreams were even bigger. After these achievements, he took part in Invitation track & field meet held at JNS New Delhi and achieved the best timing of 10.6 seconds in 100 meters. This was another feather in the cap and in no time became a National Athletic Champion.

Mr Singh has also worked with Indian Express in its Event management division for 3 years after which he established his own company of events and sports. He also started managing many sports celebrities.
He also imparts free training to the poor and needy athletes by providing them with diet, nutrition and training as he sees himself in those young buds. He got the opportunity to be the chief coach of Skechers Go Run Club Chandigarh and also got nominated as General Secretary for MAFI Chandigarh.
Presently he is preparing for Veteran Asian International meet to be held in Singapore and World Athletic meet in Canada to represent India.
